2000-03-04第3版《新民晚报》消息“儿童测体温慎用口表”,说一个两岁男孩因病测量体温时误将体温表咬破,水银误入肚,引起家人极度恐慌。该报道引用某市级医院儿科主任的话“水银是一种重金属,服后会中毒”,且引用了许多吓人的症状。此消息一度在该市发行的许多报纸上都曾有报道,读者广泛。
