The Yellowknife area in northwestern Canada and the McIntyre-Porcupine area in Andalusia are rich in gold. Almost all of the gold deposits in these two areas are produced in the Archean green rock series. Boyle et al. Proposed a “lateral secretion” mode of genesis after careful study of the geological features, structural features, mineralization and wall rock alteration characteristics of these deposits. The thermal intrusive action of granodiorite and other rock mass led to the activation and transfer of gold and other metallogenic elements in the green rock and precipitation of vein-gold deposits in the fracture of the shear zone. The ore-forming material comes from the ore-bearing host rock itself.
