INTRODUCTION Most of the theories of genesis about deposited Pb-Zn deposits in predominantly carbonate rocks involve the precipitation of metals from solution as the major phase of the enrichment process. However, if the most important deposits and the overlying water layer are sulfide-free, the metal can precipitate out of the solution through a variety of different actions including direct precipitation of the metal as a basic carbonate, Calcium and magnesium carbonate are simultaneously precipitated and adsorbed or complexed with organic or inorganic fine particles in the deposit.
