宋代早期南戏《赵贞女蔡二郎》是书生负心婚变戏的代表作之一,系社会下层书会文人作品,重在情感宣泄,暴露鞭挞读书人发迹变泰后的丑恶行径。元末高明据此题材重新创作的《琵琶记》,乃社会上层文人之作,多了理性思考,以肯定和宣扬封建孝道为主题,意欲塑造儒家倡导的忠孝节义伦理理性人格。第四出《蔡公逼试》,父子二人就是否上京赴试的对话中各自或明或隐地
In the early Song Dynasty, the Nanxi opera, “Zhao Zai Nui Cai Er Lang”, was one of the masterpieces by which the scholar belittled the marriage and drama. It was the literary work of the lower society society, focusing on the emotional catharsis and exposing the ugly acts that whipped the scholar to become Thai. The late Plum in the Yuan Dynasty reopened the “Pipa”, the upper class of literati for the work, more rational thinking, to affirm and promote the feudal filial piety as the theme, intended to shape Confucian advocacy loyalty and filial piety moral ethical personality.
