方正县依托丰富的水面资源优势,突出特色,把河蟹养殖作为优化渔业结构和促进农民增收的重要渠道,依靠科技进步,加大扶持力度,积极试验和大力推广河蟹养殖,使河蟹养殖的规模不断扩大,取得了良好的经济效益。2003年,全县河蟹放养面积为6 850亩,其中大水面放养面积为6 200亩;稻田和池塘放养面积为650亩,资金总投入为38.5万元。全县投放蟹苗17 285kg,9月中旬开始起捕,回捕率按40％计算,计划总产量达到82 968kg,可实现总产值498万元。
