By the spring of 1981, optical data storage systems would be developed on three continents. File storage has long evolved from archival storage to microfilm storage. Now, it finds a new home on a rotating CD - a tool that combines home entertainment TV recordings and computer storage disks. Laser diodes will play a dual role of “write” and “read”. Why optical data storage has only recently become a reality after years of development in this area? Before 1970, a large number of stored information consisting of numbers, tables and equations were recorded on disk as digital codes. This period is the period of development of digital forms of data storage (computer data storage). In the mid-1970s, a section of storage manuscripts, some letters, one page or even the whole article, and word processing were put forward, so there was a need to update the disk - a low-cost, inexpensive plastic disk.
