本文以多模态话语分析为理论框架,对比研究中英文多模态诗歌语篇在模态呈现方式以及模态间关系上的差异。以Don J·Carlson的视觉诗Bird和中国古代诗画语篇为例,进行个案研究。运用Kress&van Leeuwen的视觉语法理论,分析图像等视觉符号的概念意义、人际意义和语篇意义,阐释英汉多模态诗歌语篇的模态间表现形式的差异,及其背后深层次的文化和思维差异,进一步探讨多模态语篇中视觉符号参与意义建构以及实现语篇连贯中的作用。
Based on the multi-modal discourse analysis, this dissertation compares the modal presentation modes and the modal relationships between Chinese and English multimodal poetry. Taking Don J Carlson’s visual poetry bird and Chinese ancient poetic discourse as examples, this paper conducts a case study. Using the visual grammar theory of Kress & van Leeuwen, this paper analyzes the conceptual meaning, interpersonal meaning and textual meanings of visual symbols such as images to explain the differences between modal expressions of multi-modal poetry in English and Chinese and the deep cultural and thinking behind it Differences, to further explore the multi-modal discourse visual symbols involved in the construction and realization of the role of discourse coherence.
