After more than three years and five rounds of talks, the six-nation talks highly concerned by the international community have finally made some substantial progress in early 2007. North Korea agreed to close nuclear facilities and accept supervision from the international community in exchange for energy assistance pledged by other parties. Of course, the relevant contents of the agreement have yet to be further detailed and implemented by all parties, among which there will be many uncertainties, but this has fully demonstrated that the peaceful settlement of disputes through negotiations should be the primary choice for handling differences among nations.
