Atrial fibrillation (AF) is a common arrhythmia associated with aging that is rapidly evolving with the aging of the population. The mechanisms are complex and the etiology is unknown. A young patient with no cardiovascular risk factors, paroxysmal atrial fibrillation without structural heart disease, and chronic persistent atrial fibrillation at 90 years of age can be considered as a completely different disease. If the former attacks frequently, the disease is obvious, the catheter radiofrequency ablation can be considered as the first choice. Obviously, the latter should not be considered ablation, more reasonable treatment is to control the ventricular rate and safe and effective prevention of thromboembolic complications, with particular caution to balance the risk of anticoagulation with thromboembolism and bleeding. At the same time obvious renal function
