走在常州的大街小巷里,南大街给我留下了最深刻的印象。那绿树掩映的马路,鳞次栉比的商店,川流不息的人群,仿佛是一幅流动的历史画面在我的眼前掠过。自明代万历九年(1581)开凿九里渠(京杭运河常州段)以后,南大街商业渐渐兴旺起来,至民国时发展成商业、金融业中心地带。抗战时期,常州地区的商店、钱庄大部分集中在南大街、西瀛里等周边地区。漕运、木业、果业、茶业、布业,以及
Walking in the streets of Changzhou, South Street left me the most profound impression. The tree-lined streets, row upon row of shops, endless stream of people, as if a flowing historical picture passing in front of me. Since the Ming Dynasty, Wanli nine years (1581) digging nine years of drainage (Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal Changzhou section), South Street business gradually thriving up to the Republic of China into the commercial and financial center. During the war of resistance against Japan, Changzhou area stores, banks are mostly concentrated in the South Avenue, West Ying and other surrounding areas.
