对子莲、莲肉的外形尺寸（ 长度和直径） ，莲心直径，莲壳厚度以及莲肉与莲壳的密度进行了测量。测量数据表明：子莲、莲肉的外形尺寸（ 长度和直径） ，莲心直径，莲壳厚度的测量数据均有一个分布集中的区间，对设计莲子初加工设备有参考价值；莲肉和莲壳的密度测量数据表明两者的密度值差异甚大，既可用重力式也可用水选法来分离莲肉和莲壳。
