In this work, Walker uses his unique narrative method to expose the living conditions and miserable fates of the black women at the bottom of society and seek ways to get rid of this fate. Based on the theory of feminist narratology proposed by Susan Lanser, this article analyzes how the author uses the personal narrative voice in the novel “Purple” to show that black women seek their own rights under the dual oppression, so as to reveal the oppressed black female pairs Pursuit of self-worth and survival significance.
