An analysis of two female images of Evelyn and Polly in Joyce ’s novel “The Dublins” reveals the images of such lovely, pitiful, and sometimes retarded ignorants like Evelyn and Polly. The image is of universal significance and is a manifestation of the paralyzed state of Dublin under the Catholic and colonial British colonies.
