本文以葛浩文(Howard Goldblatt)的一条翻译准则为出发点,以莫言作品《生死疲劳》译本中的章回体翻译和人名翻译为例,探究了葛浩文进行文学翻译工作的初衷,以及他为实现这一初衷而进行的努力,最终得出以下结论:葛式翻译在遵循其翻译准则的基础上,最大限度地再现了莫言的“陌生化”手法。这种翻译方式不但忠实于原文的内容,也再现了原文的文学形式,从而保留了原作的文学性。
This paper takes a translation guideline of Howard Goldblatt as a starting point. Taking the chapter body translation and names translation in Mo Yan’s work Life and Death as an example, this article explores the original intention of Ge Haowen’s literary translation work, The original intention of the effort, the ultimate conclusion reached the following: Ge style translation in compliance with its translation criteria, based on the maxim to reproduce Mo Yan “unfamiliar ” approach. This translation method not only faithful to the original content, but also reproduced the original literary form, thus preserving the literary nature of the original.
