In the humanistic tradition of human language studies, American-linguistic humanism has profoundly inspired cultural studies in the 20th century with its anthropological practice and linguistic relevance. Taking the “event center” cognitive schema and “non-virtual spatiality” of the Native American Hopi language as a mirror, Wolf shows the linguistic limits of experience and cognition of all ethnic groups, especially the European nations. Wolf’s research has shown us that there is an isomorphic relationship between the language system and one of the ways of thinking and thinking in a culture. Only by integrating the cultures and languages as a whole and long-term and historically combined can such isomorphic relations be discovered.
