This article discusses the design and construction of a shop for copper electrowinning associated with the heap leaching of ore and waste rock and the purification and leachate extraction by solvent extraction. The two electrowinning methods used in the mining industry are introduced. The total floor plan, shop floor size and investment costs of the electro-mechanical shop with production scale of 10, 50 and 100 t / d are presented. Both of these methods are the more recent more than half a century of the traditional method (pole piece slot - production trough method) and the newer method based on permanent cathodes, the Isa method. The size and selection of equipment used in the electrolysis plant are discussed, including rectifiers, cathodes, electrolyzers, pumps and pipes. Other aspects of engineering design, such as civil engineering, structures, buildings, ventilation and anti-acid, are also discussed. For small factories with short service life, the low-cost design and construction programs were evaluated.
