In the past few years, several new glass fiber production processes have been studied to reduce production costs. Although some of these processes are still used for overcladding processes, machined preform rods (MSPs) have proven to be the only candidates for retention that combine the economics and low loss of non-CVD processes, according to reference [1 ] Reported in 1989, the attenuation value of 0.63dB / km, each preform can be drawn 30kin optical fiber. Now, this improved process produces optical fibers with a minimum loss of 15.77 mm / s at a wavelength of 1550 mm and a preform that draws 150 km of fiber. Although the performance of the process has been greatly improved, it has been found that there is another problem with reboiling during preform stretching and fiber drawing.
