创刊于1959年,由中海油常州涂料化工研究院和中国化工学会涂料涂装专业委员会共同主办,涂料涂装行业发行历史最长的、唯一的中国科技核心期刊,也是中文核心期刊,RCCSE中国核心学术期刊,中国科学引文数据库核心期刊,成为四核心期刊。被《化学文摘》、《工程索引》、《科学引文索引》收录,多次获得全国石油和化工行业、江苏省、原化工部的期刊、广告、发行奖。
