Endothelin (ET) is a 21 amino acid-containing vasoactive peptide found by Yanagisawa in 1988. ET is mainly synthesized and released by vascular endothelial cells. A wide range of biological effects and the strongest vasoconstriction. This article gives an overview of the mechanism and treatment of ET-induced hypertension. ET can cause hypertension has been recognized. However, no consensus has been reached on its mechanism.
