美国西部小说,作为美国西部文学的重要组成部分,对美国民族性格的形成有重要影响。二十世纪六十年代,后现代主义文学得到了标志性的发展,西部小说的创作,对传统西部神话的进行了解构和颠覆。美国西部小说体现了不仅体现出后现代主义的部分特征,同时,它更广泛地涉及了弱势文化的种种问题,更强烈的展现出了美国的自我意识和反叛精神,以新的视角,新的表现手法诠释美国西部古老传奇。本文主要从后现代主义视角对西部小说持久鲜明特征进行深入系统研究,总结这一时期西部作者们的创新实践特点,从而对新西部小说有更丰富全面的了解。
American western novel, as an important part of American western literature, has an important influence on the formation of American national character.
