The need to strengthen the management of radioactive materials for building materials The building materials contain a variety of radionuclides. This problem has gradually been recognized and caused widespread attention. In particular, the application of industrial waste in the building materials industry has led to an increase in the radioactivity levels in building materials. The use of building materials containing relatively high levels of radioactivity for the construction of housing and public living spaces has provided additional exposure to humans. The health of humans and their offspring poses a potential hazard. In 1986, the Ministry of Health issued the “Standard for Radiological Health of Building Materials” (hereinafter referred to as the standard) in order to control the radioactivity level of building materials. “Standards” stipulates that all types of building materials must meet the specific activity of natural radionuclide water limit
