Sophia Andreessen’s thirteen anthologies of poetry are infused with a rare lightness and precision to which the facts of poetry and the facts of life are inseparable. She defines poetry as an art of being and does not require the poet to possess science, aesthetics, or theory. On the contrary, it requires all the poets exist, a surging consciousness that is deeper than the intellect. Poetry is an inexhaustible thing, a living thing. It begins with the relationship between us and things, and the relationship with daily life, this relationship is mysterious. Without mysterious thoughts, people can not live in the world.
