作为国内知名的油画大家,尚扬的作品风格在经历过一次重大的变化之后,已经和西方艺术中对于物质形貌及精神实体的具象认识拉开了相应的距离,他更注重将中国传统的自然观念及意向从无到有的生长状态等,并将其作为艺术的本体。由此,绘画不再是三维的空间幻觉,也不再是平面的布置与设计,而是随着艺术家创作过程,不断从虚无和空白中生成的痕迹与精神的记录,每一张画都可谓真正意义上的生命写作。
