挠力河源头在七台河市境内,全长490公里,流经宝清县、五九七农场、八五三农场、富锦市、大兴农场、红旗岭农场、饶河县汇入乌苏里江,渔业资源十分丰富。鲤科鱼类有鲤、鲫、鲢、鳙、草鳊鱼等;鳅科鱼类有泥鳅、花鳅、刺鳅;(鱼危)科鱼类有黄颡鱼;鲶科鱼类有鲶鱼、南方大口鲶;鳜科鱼类有鳜鱼。在农场建成初期仅八五三农场在挠力河段的捕捞产量就达400～500吨。水禽品种多,对面街泡子、罗海荣泡子、落马湖泡子是大雁北飞,鱼类回游产卵、摄食最佳的栖息场所,当时流传的一句民谚“棒打狍子瓢舀鱼,野鸡飞到饭锅里”。是对挠力河渔业资源和生态环境的真实写照。
