日文汉字里有不少“国字(日本人自己创造的汉字)”,如“峠”、“过”、“畑”、“躾”等等。在汉译时,我们经常采用“音译”、“意译”等方法,“音译”一般在翻译姓名或专有名词时使用,“意译”即根据原始字义或词义进行翻译,因而必须在认识字义或词义的基础上翻译才能达意。本文围绕日常使用频率很高且经常被人译为“家教”的“躾”一词的汉译法进行推敲,通过认识这一“国字”在现代日本社会的应用状况去寻找最合适它的汉译方式。
