Since the early 1950s the anticoagulant warfarin has been used, a period of “golden age” has been experienced in rat-defense work. However, drug resistance has emerged in less than 10 years and many countries are actively studying new rodenticides against drug-resistant rodents. Difenacoum is the earliest new anticoagulant rodenticide that can kill warfarin-resistant mice. Its chemical name is 3- (3-biphenylene-naphthalene-1-yl) -4- Hydroxycoumarin. The Institute of Microbiology and Epidemiology, Academy of Military Medical Sciences synthesized this compound in 1979 and organized an evaluation of laboratory biological effects. Materials and Methods Adult, healthy rats, mice, Rattus norvegious and R flavipectus were tested. Rats and mice are laboratory rats in our hospital to provide hybrid rats; brown house mouse is in Nanyang,
