克拜地区位于黑龙江省中部,是大小兴安岭延伸的山前台地。海拔200~300米,地表波伏起伏,漫川漫岗,是我省重要的商品粮基地。但由于春季干旱多风,夏季降水集中造成强烈水土流失。特别是随着耕作机械的增多,推广了以平翻为主的耕作法,既破坏了团粒结构,又损失了大量水分。加重了土壤的风蚀和干旱。同时,在耕层底部又形成了坚硬的平板状犁底层,雨水难以下渗,易形成地表径流,引起土壤流失。据调查,本区年土壤侵蚀模数达7000吨/平方公里。
