Hundreds of Chinese and American audience marveled2 at the performance of Chinese Shaolin kung fu in Houston， the fourth largest city in the United States.
在美国第四大城市休斯敦举行的中国少林功夫表演，令数百名中美观众惊叹不已。
Named “The legend of Shaolin 2018”， the show was the recital3 of the Shi Xing Hao Shaolin Kung Fu Academy in Houston. Students of the academy， young and old， performed all kinds of martial arts， receiving cheers and acclamation4 from the audience.
這场名为“2018少林传奇”的演出是休斯敦释行浩（音）少林功夫学院的专场表演。学院学生不论老少都表演了各种武术，受到观众的欢呼和喝彩。
The academy started as a small class of only 10 students in 1998. In the past 20 years， it has trained thousands of kung fu lovers， and many of them gain national and international medals.
学院在1998创办时，只有一个10名学生的小班。在过去的20年里，学院培养了数千名功夫爱好者，其中许多人获得了国家级和国际奖牌。
A disciple5 from Shaolin Temple in China， the principal of the academy， Shi Xing Hao， told Xinhua that during the past 20 years， more and more Americans have showed great passion for Chinese kung fu.
少林寺院长释行浩是中国少林寺的一名弟子，他告诉新华社，在过去的20年里，越来越多的美国人对中国功夫表现出极大的热情。
“Kung fu is a namecard of Chinese people， representing positive6 energy，” he said.
“功夫是中国人的名片，代表着积极的能量。”他说。
Billy Nisbett， who has been with the academy for eight years， said kung fu has brought huge changes to his life， both physically and spiritually. He said kung fu has opened a door for him about China.
比利·尼斯贝特在学院工作了八年，他说功夫给他的生活带来了巨大的变化，无论是身体上还是精神上。他说功夫为他打开了通向中国的大门。
“I’m learning Chinese now and I stayed in China for about two months. I definitely know more about China than before，” Nisbett， now a PHD student in physics， said.
