Copper is an essential trace element for plants and animals, but excessive copper can seriously affect the growth of plants and animals. In recent years, along with the development of agriculture and industry, the soil copper pollution aggravates and becomes one of the important soil environmental problems. Copper contamination studies have been extended to rhizosphere micro-domains. The rhizosphere is a soil micro-area which is significantly affected by plant root system and its growth activity. Its special chemical, physical and biological properties have a great impact on the morphological changes and migration of heavy metals. Recent advances in the chemical behavior of copper under the influence of rhizosphere pH, Eh, root exudates, rhizosphere organisms and microorganisms have been reviewed. It is necessary to further deepen the study on single or multiple rhizosphere environmental factors (pH, Eh, root system Secretions, rhizosphere and other organic matter) on the morphological changes of copper, in order to assess its risk of occurrence and release in the soil environment, to elucidate the mechanism of copper contamination of soil chemistry and bioremediation provide guidance.
