The residual fog is the first drama created by Lao She during the Anti-Japanese War, engaging in the propaganda and agitation of the war with his humorous and satirical style. As a test and exploration of Laoshe’s transformation from a novelist to a dramatist, Lao She displayed a completely different identity and appearance from Lao She, a novelist, and started the creative process of the grand narrative of the nation-state. From the creation and performance of the “residual fog”, the intension and effect of the performance and controversy, the dislocation of the script and the theater, we can find the connection between Lao She and the drama, Laoshe and the anti-Japanese literature.
