清代人阮福在《普洱茶记》中云:普洱茶名遍天下,味最醇,京师尤之……而今,在品饮、收藏普洱茶正成为茶界一股新的潮流。这不仅是对传统历史文化的一种尊崇,更因为普洱茶有许多独特之处。一盅上好的普洱茶,色如红玉,剔透莹润,其味也酽,其香也醇。香港才子蔡澜在他的一篇文章中说:有一次外出忘带普洱,对它的思念越来越深。幻想下次喝之,必愈泡愈浓,才过瘾……而我,亦想起初次喝普洱的滋味了,那种甘苦交替的过程,令我回味无穷,自此,从不热衷于茶饮的我,竟也心甘情愿成了普洱的忠实追随者。
