Recent advances in sensing technology, control system design, digital delivery, and fourth-generation programming languages have been applied to the development of a complete computer-aided heat treatment control monitoring system. The system has been adapted for use on drum furnaces for carburizing and carbonitriding fasteners. SPC (Statistical Process Control) technology is used to enhance process control reproducibility and increase productivity.
