Airbus companies are developing carbon materials that can vary with heat and air pressure, which may make the aircraft structure easier and lighter. Researchers at Airbus and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology are working on fuel-efficient deformable materials that make aircraft easier and lighter. These materials are made of carbon fiber composite material and can be switched between two or more shapes as heat, air pressure or other environmental factors change. These materials can be easily integrated into the aircraft to replace the more complex hydraulic actuators, motors and hinges. The earliest possible application of material in the jet engine intake valve, the aircraft needs to adjust the height of the intake valve adjustment.
