The development of any new technology is very likely to be very different from the original forecast. If you look back at the late 1800s, the early 20th century cars, or the computers of the mid-20th century, you can easily see that no one was able to predict how these inventions would actually be used at the time. Similarly, no one can predict specifically how the information highway will work now. However, the information superhighway is so noticeable and exciting! In order to understand what is publicity and what is real, a team of editors at Popular Science selected the phenomenon of the information superhighway and the result was written as a guideline in the form of question and answer. Here, the authors simply present the most probable result based on the current knowledge available. The most amazing and valuable use of the information highway is probably not yet thought out.
