Tuberculosis is a group of major infectious diseases that endanger human health. Heat shock proteins, a group of structurally conserved proteins in eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells, can act as antigenic substances to initiate innate and adaptive immune responses. Numerous studies have shown that on the one hand Mtb Hsp16.3 can help Mtb escape phagocytosis of macrophages during tuberculosis infection and on the other hand it can in turn induce Th1-type immunity that plays a protective role in anti-TB infection as a vaccine component Response, indicating Mtb Hsp16.3 in different stages of tuberculosis play a different role. Therefore, this review summarizes the research progress of Mtb Hsp16.3 in tuberculosis.
