唐代诗、画并兴,基于互通的艺术特征和创作经验,二者走上了互动、共构的发展道路。唐仕女画“应物象形”“骨法用笔”“随类赋彩”“经营位置”“传移模写”的造型技巧,以及“气韵生动”的艺术效果,均对唐诗女性形象描写有重要的影响。唐诗女性形象描写的意境、风格也影响了仕女画的创作。初盛唐仕女画的“高贵典雅”和中晚唐仕女画的“忧郁闲逸”的美学基调与唐诗女性形象的共构,奠定了具有华夏美学特征的“仕女”形象的形成,进而影响了后世古典文学女性形象的描写。
