According to Electronics Letters, the UK conducted the first high-speed optical data transmission of 2Gb / s and 2.4Gb / s on installed utility optical cable routes and successfully conducted 2Gb / s 140 km and 8Gb / s 32 Km high-speed optical data transmission experiment. The system uses a 1.5μm distributed feedback (DFB) laser and a GeAPD transimpedance receiver. The system is installed between the Tamworth relay station in northeast Birmingham and the city center relay station. The total loss of line in the path of 32 kilometers in length is 10dB, including the loss of all the connectors and the connection
