Joseph Locke (1884-1962), an Austrian native of the United States, traveled to China expedition six times in the capacity of commissioner of the United States Department of Agriculture and writer and photographer of National Geographic of the United States. From 1922 until 1949, staying in China for 27 years, traveling all over Yunnan and Sichuan.
