《儒林外史》以“邦无道则隐”的儒家隐逸理念来抗衡污浊的社会风气,这一隐逸理念又具体表现在对山水、田园和南京风物的描写中。从中国古代山水描写的传统、田园书写的传统以及南京风物的文化蕴涵等角度解读《儒林外史》的相关描写,有助于体认吴敬梓的诗人气质和哲人风范,有助于完整把握这部小说的内容,有助于深化关于知识分子命运的思考。
“Scholars” relied on the Confucian seclusion concept of “no way is hidden” to confront the dirty social atmosphere.
