Telomerase is a new marker for the diagnosis and treatment of cancer. It is currently used for the determination of telomere repeat amplification (TRAP). TRAP is based on telomerase-mediated production of double-stranded DNA starting from the original sample protein extract in proportion to the telomerase activity of the original sample. However, it is a qualitative analysis and requires time-consuming gel electrophoresis and autoradiography after PCR, for which the author used PicroGreen—
