长期以来,“中国当代艺术”在中国不断遭遇各种非议,特别是面对全球经济危机和艺术市场萎缩的现状,更是众说纷纭,中国当代艺术具有难以言说的复杂性和挑战意味。在这种复杂的学术现状面前,李倍雷教授、赫云博士于嘈杂和争执中,重新梳理中国当代艺术,以全新的视角审视定位中国当代艺术,以“中国当代艺术的当代性”为开端,理清中国当代艺术的“当代性”问题,解决什么是“当代性”的问题,然后进入“中国当代艺术的表现形态”、“中国当代艺术的意义图像”和“中国当代艺术的文化诉求”这三个层面,并在结论中提出了中国当代艺术需要构建的问题,以达到对中国当代艺术批判性、反省性和文化性等意义的追求。
