A new ternary copper(Ⅱ) complex, [CHCuNO]·[CHCuNO]·6.5HO, has been synthesized by the reaction of copper sulfate, 2,6-pyridinedicarboxylic acid and 1,10-phenanthroline (phen), and characterized by elemental analysis,IR, UV and Ⅹ-ray single-crystal diffraction. It crystallizes in tdclinic, space group P1, with a = 14.379(5), b = 15.510(5), c =15.835(6) A, a = 78.567(6), β = 63.594(6), γ= 81.287(6)°,V= 3092.1 (19) A,λ(MoKα)=0.71073 A,μ= 1.101 mm
