Because it can form a seasonal complementarity with hydropower, Yunnan wind power shortage is relatively small, so the wind power development in the region has drawn much attention. After the wind power development was suspended for some time, in 2014, the Yunnan Provincial Development and Reform Commission issued the Circular on Restoring Wind Power Projects in the Province and started to approve new wind power projects. However, Yunnan is located in the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, with pleat folds vertically and most of its wind power projects are located in high-altitude areas with high requirements on equipment quality, construction cost and construction difficulty. This makes a high-altitude wind farm in the equipment production and selection, construction
