Many people are familiar with the “Energy Star” sign on blue and white (see Figure 1), which is an energy efficiency guide that guides us in purchasing energy-efficient dishwasher and refrigerator appliances. Soon we’ll see this familiar logo on solid-state lighting products that will help consumers make informed choices about more energy efficient LED products than traditional light sources.
