阅读是人们获取知识、互相交流的重要手段,也是语言学习的基础技能。阅读能力的提高跟阅读兴趣有很大的联系,阅读兴趣的培养又跟阅读材料有很大的联系。在独立学院大学英语阅读教学中,选择合适的英语阅读材料是有效提高学生英语阅读能力的关键。英语教材和教辅中提供的阅读材料远远不能满足学生的阅读需求,对学生阅读能力的提高也有限。因此,结合阅读教学理论,本文分析了阅读材料选择的原则,旨在鼓励教师开发适合学生情况的阅读材料,提高英语学习的兴趣和效果,从而提高学生英语阅读能力。 Reading is an important means by which people acquire knowledge and communicate with each other. It is also the basic skill of language learning. The improvement of reading ability has a great connection with the reading interest, and the reading interest cultivation has a great connection with the reading material. In Independent college college English reading teaching, choosing appropriate English reading materials is the key to effectively improve students’ English reading ability. The reading materials provided in English teaching materials and supplementary materials are far from satisfying students’ reading needs and their reading ability is limited. Therefore, combined with the theory of reading teaching, this paper analyzes the principle of reading material selection to encourage teachers to develop reading materials suitable for students, improve the interest and effectiveness of English learning, thereby improving students’ English reading ability.
