历史上,顺德就以“鱼米之乡”、“南国丝都”的美誉闻名遐迩。改革开放以来,顺德更以经济和社会各项事业迅猛发展的惊人成就为世人所瞩目。得天独厚的自然条件顺德县位于我国珠江三角洲的中部,北回归线以南,在东经113°1′～113°23′之间,属亚热带海洋性季风气候。全年日照时间长,雨量充沛,气候温和宜人。北到广州不足40km,东南距香港128km、澳门80km。全县面积806km~2,下设11个镇,人口90万。全县80%以上的土地属珠江三角洲冲积平原,地势西北略高,东南稍低。境内河道交织,鱼塘星罗棋布,土地肥沃,适宜于各种农作物生长。现有耕地面积453.4km~2,盛产塘
