一、前言几十年来,荒地生态学家、草场科学家等,主要通过地面研究和推理的方法获取了关于植物群落和其它景观特征的信息。其目的是识别植物和土壤,对植物群落及其组成成份加以描绘分类和成图,监测环境和生态状况的变化。由于荒地的面积通常既大又不易到达,地面调查难以确定其特征和范围,致使有些研究未能取得成功。而遥感技术却为获取这些地区的可靠数据提供了一种有潜力的省时省钱的手段。
I. Preface For decades, wildland ecologists and pasture scientists have obtained information on plant communities and other landscape features mainly through ground research and inference. Its purpose is to identify plants and soils, to map and classify plant communities and their components, and to monitor changes in the environment and ecological conditions. Due to the fact that the area of wasteland is usually large and not easily accessible, it is difficult to determine the characteristics and extent of ground surveys, leaving some studies unsuccessful. Remote sensing technology, however, offers a potential means of saving time and money by securing reliable data in these areas.
