多孔菌科是一群含有较强生理活性的真菌,具滋补、健脑、强化、益胃等功效,如从云芝子实体中提取的云芝多糖(PSK)具有抗肿瘤和免疫作用,在体内对小鼠S—180肉瘤有明显的抗肿瘤活性;从灵芝子实体中提取的灵芝多糖能促进肝脏和骨髓细胞的蛋白质、核酸的合成。我国的多孔菌科约30余属300余种。我们于1985～1988年对杭州西湖山区药用菌资源进行了调查,经鉴定多孔菌科药用菌有8属13种。
