本文采用聚类分析方法将南极海冰距平划分成5个变化相似的区域。并计算了对应各区的南半球500hPa极涡面积和强度指数。分析了海冰与极涡指数的时空特征及相互关系。结果表明,不同区域的海冰和极涡的气候特征和年际变化的差异十分显著。1区和4区的海冰变化最大。海冰范围和极涡指数在多数区都在2—2.5a和5—7a的振荡周期。仅发现1区海冰范围是扩张趋势,其他4个区都呈收缩趋势。南极平均海冰范围以1.6个纬度/102a的趋势减小。南半球各区极涡面积都是呈显著的减小趋势。3个区的极涡强度呈增强趋势。各区海冰与极涡的相互关系十分明显,但比较复杂。海冰与大气相互作用的最敏感区是在5区和1区,即东南太平洋至南大西洋地区。
In this paper, we use the method of cluster analysis to divide Antarctic sea ice into five areas with similar changes. The 500 hPa polar vortex area and intensity index in the southern hemisphere corresponding to each area were calculated. The spatio-temporal features and correlation of sea ice and polar vortex index are analyzed. The results show that there are significant differences in the climatic characteristics and interannual variability of sea ice and polar vortex in different regions. Zone 1 and Zone 4 have the largest changes in sea ice. Sea ice range and polar vortex index in most areas are 2-2.5a and 5-7a oscillation period. Only one area of sea ice is found to be the expansion trend, the other four areas showed a contraction trend. The average range of Antarctic sea ice decreased with the trend of 1.6 latitudes / 102a. The area of polar vortices in the southern hemisphere is obviously decreasing. The polar vortex intensity of the three regions showed an increasing trend. The correlation between sea ice and polar vortex in each area is obvious, but it is rather complicated. The most sensitive areas for sea-ice interaction with the atmosphere are in zones 5 and 1, ie, the southeast Pacific to the South Atlantic.
