Introduction The University of Melbourne project is the result of an international competition organized in 2009. In addition to providing new facilities for the Department of Architecture and related disciplines at the University of Melbourne, the competition focused on rethinking the full architectural education challenge and highlighting four topics: academic environment, aero studios, living buildings and building body instruction. All of these topics deal with the pressing issues of the time and look forward to the future. In proposing these 4 topics, the competition foresees major changes brought by interdisciplinary cooperation to architecture education and a way for teaching space to create a platform for integration in various fields so that the whole is larger than the sum of the various components. The competition also complied with the rapidly emerging trend of new technologies and online education, noting the need to redefine space. This not only optimizes personal space, but also social space, shared means and interactive technologies. this
